HOFFMAN ESTATES, ILL. (AP) - Police say two people were stabbed to death and three others were wounded at a home near Chicago.

Hoffman Estates Police Lt. Rich Russo says investigators are confident the stabbings did not result from a home invasion

Russo says a woman called authorities early Friday reporting someone had been stabbed.

He says investigators believe one or two of the people wounded are responsible for the deaths. He says officers are with the wounded at hospitals.

Russo declined to identify any of the five adults but said they all knew each other.

Hoffman Estates is 28 miles northwest of Chicago.
