OPINION:
I took my 8- and 12-year-old daughters to the “Hannah Montana” movie, and we all loved it. Your movie review (“Miley vs. Hannah” Show, Friday) said parents would not enjoy it. I thought it was entertaining because of the fun, humor, good music and good family values. Obviously, when I see a child’s movie, I expect and enjoy the simplicity of it.
You stated that Billy Ray Cyrus was “leeching off of his daughter’s popularity” to sing two songs in the movie. First of all, he was famous before Miley came along. Secondly, he is still talented. Thirdly, the film followed the story of the television show, and he plays music in that, too. I believe that a movie should be reviewed based on the film’s intent and from the perspective of the target audience.
I would have rated it four stars.
