ROLLING MEADOWS, ILL. (AP) - An Illinois man accused of killing his girlfriend’s sister, father and grandmother has been denied bail.
A judge in Rolling Meadows on Saturday ordered D’andre Howard held without bond in the stabbing deaths of 18-year-old Laura Engelhardt, 57-year-old Alan Engelhardt and 73-year-old Marlene Gacek.
The 20-year-old man from Hoffman Estates was charged with three counts of homicide, one count of attempted homicide and one count of unlawful restraint.
Howard was being treated for injuries suffered during the fight with the victims Friday and didn’t appear at the hearing.
Prosecutors say Howard followed his girlfriend to her family’s home after she left him over suspicions of infidelity.
Hoffman Estates is about 20 miles northwest of Chicago.
