Reds OF Bruce sits out with sore hand

HOUSTON (AP) - Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce is out of the lineup for the game against the Houston Astros because of a sore right hand.

Bruce had started all nine games this season and was hitting .167. He injured the hand when he was hit by a pitch at Milwaukee. He’s considered day-to-day.

Laynce Nix got his first start of the season in Bruce’s place. Nix is hitting .286 as a pinch-hitter with one RBI.
