States hope new business tax breaks revive economy

Some of the states that are proposing new or expanded business tax incentives:

_ Florida: Loans to small businesses that show potential for expansion.

_ Georgia: $2,400 income tax credit to businesses that hire unemployed workers.

_ Minnesota: Tax credits for small businesses.

_ Missouri: Tax credits for investors in new technology-based companies and for research in biotechnology, medicine and alternative energy.

_ New Jersey: $3,000 for each new employee companies hire.

_ Nevada: Tax breaks for solar energy companies.

_ Ohio: Tax breaks for companies that add high-paying jobs, new film industry tax credits.
