DETROIT (AP) - Several suspicious devices were found in a parking garage at Motor City Casino Sunday, keeping patrons from retrieving their cars for hours until a bomb squad detonated two of the objects and found they were fakes, police said.

Sgt. Eren Stephens Bell, a police spokeswoman, said the four-story garage was closed about 5:30 p.m. Sunday and reopened shortly before 11 p.m. She said the casino itself was not considered in danger and was not evacuated.

Stephens Bell said several devices were found in the garage, but she would not say how many. Michigan State Police told Detroit radio station WWJ that the two objects were detonated electronically in an open area a safe distance from the casino, and were found devoid of explosive material.

Patrons were allowed to enter and leave the casino on foot during the search. Police and federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents began a final sweep of the garage early Monday after the last patrons drove away in their cars, Stephens Bell said.

Casino spokeswoman Jacci Woods told the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News that patrons were given complimentary food and beverages while they waited.

Stephens Bell says police are reviewing security video in an effort to identify who might have placed the devices in the garage.

Police and ATF agents also were checking security at the MGM Grand and Greektown casinos downtown, Stephens Bell said.
