DUESSELDORF, GERMANY (AP) - Four men are going on trial Wednesday for allegedly plotting to attack U.S. and German targets in central Germany in 2007.

German prosecutors allege the men were planning car bomb attacks on targets such as pubs, discos and airports.

German authorities arrested three of the suspects at a rented cottage in central Germany on Sept. 4. 2007, while Turkey arrested the fourth in November 2007 and extradited him to Germany for trial.

The two Germans and two Turkish nationals are accused of membership in a terrorist organization and conspiracy to commit murder.

The alleged ringleader of the plan has been identified as Fritz Gelowicz. The suspects include Daniel Schneider, Adem Yilmaz and Attila Selek.
