How did you get started in real estate? I was a marketing representative with a financial company in the District, and it went out of business. I always thought real estate sales would be interesting and decided to take the classes.

How long have you been with the current company? Since 1992

Licenses and designations: Licensed in Virginia as an associate broker and managing broker of Weichert, Realtors Fair Oaks office

Associations: Northern Virginia Association of Realtors (current secretary/treasurer on the board of directors and member since 2006)

Awards: Past Multi-Million Dollar Club, Top Producer, past Weichert Chairman of the Board

Greatest accomplishment in last 12 months: I organized a group in my office to teach homeless women how to create resumes, dress for success in job interviews, and how to interview for jobs. (This was for the Katherine K. Hanley Family Shelter.)

What is your area of specialty? Residential real estate for first-time homebuyers (my personal favorite)

Highest-priced home sold: $1,200,000

Most memorable house: In 1995, there was a short sale in McLean that was owned by a Cabinet member of the Reagan administration that had a breathtaking view of the Potomac River. My buyer got a fabulous price.

Worst experience: I listed a house where the seller rented out rooms to three separate people (but the seller didn’t tell me this at the listing appointment). I had to get the seller to remove locks on the individual doors and tell each roommate the house was being sold. It had termites, high radon and a list of home inspection problems three pages long.

Age: 54

Family: Husband, Jeff, and a son, Colin

Pets: Tony and Sophie, Jack Russell Terriers

Education: Attended Ohio University, received bachelor’s degree in business administration from the American University

Community service/outside interests: I support the Katherine K. Hanley Family Shelter, Fair Oaks District Police and Fire Department.

Last book read:“Three Cups of Tea” by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin

Last movie seen: “Gran Torino”

What kind of car do you drive? Audi convertible

Describe your personal dream house: The HGTV Dream Home 2009 in Sonoma, Calif.
