ANALYSIS/OPINION:

Christ walked on water, and Moses parted the Red Sea. Impressive as those feats were, they have to retreat when compared with an achievement pulled off by Newsweek columnist Jonathan Alter on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show” on Tuesday.

Ms. Maddow asked Mr. Alter a question, to which Mr. Alter replied he had not heard her because he was not getting any audio. He said, however, that he would answer the question anyway. He went on to give an approximately three-minute answer to a question he said he had not heard.

I wonder how often Mr. Alter also reports news he has not actually heard?
