Centex Homes is building 102 single-family homes on sites of 8,000 to 11,000 square feet at Avalon West in Waldorf, Md., a community with a pavilion and playgrounds located near St. Charles Town Center.

Centex Homes is offering up to $20,000 in closing-cost assistance and $15,000 toward options with the use of a preferred lender.

Each home in this Charles County community will include low-maintenance vinyl siding, professional landscaping, a sodded yard and a two-car garage.

Inside, all three models feature four bedrooms; 2 1/2 baths; hardwood flooring in the foyer and powder room; 9-foot ceilings on all three levels; a gas fireplace; crown moldings; 42-inch birch cabinets, a pantry and recessed lighting in the center-island kitchen; ceramic tile flooring in the baths; a luxury master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower; energy-efficient windows; and gas heat and hot water.

The homes have approximately 2,055 to 2,818 finished square feet, with base prices from $329,990 to $349,990. Homeowner association fees are $50 per month.

The Oakhurst model, with 2,818 square feet, is priced from $349,990. This home features a formal living room with a step up and a half wall separating the room from the formal dining room.

Across the back of the home are an open kitchen, breakfast area and a step-down family room with a wall of windows. The main level also has a powder room.

Upstairs, the master suite has a separate sitting room with window seat, two walk-in closets and a luxury bath. Three more bedrooms, a second full bath and a laundry room complete this level.

Options include finished lower levels, sunrooms, bay windows, a third full bath upstairs and a box ceiling.
