LOS GATOS, CALIF. (AP) - Online video subscription company Netflix Inc. said Monday it will start offering movies and TV shows for streaming in Canada later this year.

This will mark the first time Netflix is making content available outside the U.S. Netflix said its Canadian service will first be available in English but it plans to eventually add French language capability.

Shares of Netflix, which is scheduled to report its second-quarter earnings Wednesday, rose $1.07 to $119.46 in afternoon trading.
