ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County police say they have charged another suspect in the slaying of a middle school principal.
Police said Tuesday that detectives arrested 18-year-old Deontra Q. Gray of Oxon Hill, Md., on Monday night. Gray faces first-degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery charges.
Alante Saunders and Sharif Tau Lancaster of Washington, both 18, also are charged with first-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Brian Betts, who was found at his Silver Spring home last month.
D.C. officials say Saunders and Lancaster had recently escaped from custody of the city’s Department Youth Rehabilitation Services.
Lancaster’s mother is charged with knowingly receiving a credit card stolen from Betts with the intent to use it.
