WASHINGTON | Metro says a teenager has been shot aboard a Metrobus.

Police spokesman Hugh Carew says the shooting occurred just after 5 p.m. Wednesday in the 1700 block of Minnesota Avenue in southeast Washington.

Metro spokeswoman Angela Gates says the bus operator reported that another man on the bus shot a 17-year-old boy. Gates says the youth was shot in the wrist and right side and his injuries are life-threatening.

Carew says the youth has been hospitalized.
