Media liberals prefer to view Democratic losses Tuesday as merely a byproduct of the troubled economy. But an inconvenient truth is that the Democrats’ far-left agenda - personified in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi - has decimated enthusiasm for Democratic rule far quicker than any unemployment figures.

Obamacare plus other equally unpopular social and economic schemes based on presumptions far to the left of our center-right American electorate have had predictable consequences for a Democratic-led government. They seem determined to remake America along European socialist lines - despite the wishes of Americans and the troubles Europeans encounter maintaining systems that punish hard work and reward sloth.

Democrats remain fixated on chasing a bankrupt vision of utopia. History suggests it may be President Obama who gets thrown under the bus as liberals circle the wagons around their rejected agenda.
