OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz won’t participate in the Arena Football League next season.

Owner Phil Miller released a letter Monday that says he’s been unsuccessful in his attempts to find investors for the franchise. He said he decided not to field a team in 2011 based on “numerous factors.”

The competing Indoor Football League announced that it would bring a team to Oklhaoma City next season with a different ownership group. A formal announcement is planned next week.

The Yard Dawgz were formerly an arenafootball2 franchise before moving up to the AFL when it was re-created last season. The league announced in August that it would adding four new expansion teams and extending its schedule from 16 to 18 games.
