IRVING, TEXAS (AP) - It appears than even impartial judges in Texas are Rangers fans.

A Dallas attorney pleaded with a judge to postpone a pretrial hearing Wednesday in Irving, a Dallas suburb, so he could attend Game 1 of the World Series in San Francisco.

In an emergency motion, Darrell Cook says he has “very important baseball matters to attend to” and a postponement would ensure that “justice may be done.” He explains in a footnote that justice would be Rangers pitcher Cliff Lee mowing down the San Francisco Giants’ lineup.

A judge apparently agreed. Cook’s request was granted after prosecutors gave no objection.

Cook is representing an apartment complex accused of violating an ordinance concerning crime reduction.
