MILWAUKEE (AP) - Brewers manager Ken Macha says he hasn’t been told by team management if he’ll be asked back for the 2011 season.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel cited unidentified sources Sunday in saying the Brewers would not pick up Macha’s contract option for next year. The newspaper said a formal announcement would come on Monday.

Macha told The Associated Press that he hadn’t spoken to general manager Doug Melvin about his future, though he had a meeting scheduled Monday.

Macha has had two losing years as manager. He finished with a 77-85 record this season following a 3-2 loss to Cincinnati earlier Sunday.
