WASHINGTON (AP) — Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Sunday that the United States never will be immune to terrorist threats.

Ms. Napolitano said the country is facing threats, but the key is to do everything possible to minimize them.

She told CNN’s “State of the Union” that the government is considering whether to change the color-coded terror alert system to make sure people get the information they need when there’s a new threat.

She said the United States is safer than it once was, but there’s no foolproof guarantee for safety.
