ON TAP: San Francisco-based startup Webtab offers a service called Bartab that lets you send friends vouchers for actual drinks using a cell phone and Facebook.

HOW IT WORKS: After signing up, choose a bar and a drink through Bartab. Pick a Facebook friend to send it to, and the drink will pop up on that person’s Facebook profile. The person can claim the drink within three months with a text-message coupon. The transaction costs the sender and recipient $1 apiece.

WHERE IT’S AVAILABLE: Currently Bartab is in the San Francisco and Los Angeles areas and in New York.
