Metropolitan police said Sunday they had made an arrest in the fatal shooting of a Northeast man.

Officers on Saturday at about 9:56 a.m. responded to the 300 block of 18th Place in Northeast to investigate the sounds of gunshots. They found Howard Harold Williams, 48, of Northeast suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he died.

At about 10:25 p.m. Saturday, police arrested Lester James Wright, 21, of Northeast on a warrant charging him with second-degree murder while armed.
