NEW YORK (AP) - A person with knowledge of the situation says NBA players have voted to approve the new collective bargaining agreement, with owners expected to follow.

Owners are meeting Thursday afternoon and are scheduled to vote during that meeting. Once they ratify the new deal, the lockout will be officially over, paving the way for training camps and free agency to open Friday.

Players approved the deal through electronic voting. Results are not immediately available, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no announcement has been made.

CBSSports.com first reported that players had approved the deal.

Players started voting on the deal Wednesday night, though some issues weren’t completed until late Thursday morning.
