The recent events in Wisconsin have left me confused and perplexed. An election was held and the voice of the people was heard. But when it came time for our postelection American democracy to function, the Wisconsin Senate Democrats fled the state in order to thwart the democratic process.

Perhaps this is a new form of cheesehead democracy beyond my powers of comprehension. My sense of things, unfortunately, is that certain caretakers of our republic are not as concerned about disenfranchised voters as they profess to be.
