MALIBU, Calif. (AP) — Actress Valerie Bertinelli tied the knot in Malibu on New Year’s Day.

Publicist Heidi Schaeffer told the Associated Press that the 50-year-old “Hot in Cleveland” star married financial planner Tom Vitale on Saturday.

Ms. Schaeffer said in an e-mail that a report by People magazine of the wedding was accurate.

The ceremony took place in front of about 100 people at Miss Bertinelli’s home, according to People.

Guests included Miss Bertinelli’s ex-husband, rocker Eddie Van Halen, and their son, Wolfgang. Miss Bertinelli and Mr. Van Halen split in 2000 and were divorced in 2007.

Miss Bertinelli stars in the TV Land sitcom “Hot in Cleveland” and serves as a TV spokeswoman for the Jenny Craig weight-loss system. She first found fame on the 1980s sitcom “One Day at a Time.”

She and the 49-year-old Mr. Vitale dated for seven years and were engaged during an Italian vacation in March.
