Metropolitan police made an arrest on Wednesday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 26-year-old Clinton man who was attacked after exiting a party bus in a Seat Pleasant neighborhood of Prince George’s County.

Demir Michael Stevenson, 23, was in D.C. Superior Court Wednesday for an extradition hearing after he was arrested in the District as a fugitive from justice. Prince George’s County police confirmed that he is wanted in the killing of Henri’ Dominic Pratt, who was stabbed to death in the early morning hours of June 26.

Mr. Stevenson will be charged with first-degree murder once he is extradited to Maryland, court documents state.

Mr. Pratt’s family said he and two friends had taken a ride on a party bus that night, which drove passengers around the region. At one point during the ride, Mr. Pratt broke up an altercation between one of his friends and someone on the bus he didn’t know, said Mr. Pratt’s cousin, Tiffany Pratt.

When the party bus returned to the Seat Pleasant neighborhood where it had picked up the passengers, several people who were waiting near the stop attacked Mr. Pratt and one of his friends, Ms. Pratt said she was told by people on the bus.

She thinks the people who her cousin confronted on the bus contacted the others and directed them to attack him.

Mr. Pratt was stabbed 27 times and his friend eight times, Ms. Pratt said.

Funeral services for Mr. Pratt, who leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter, will be held Thursday.
