A Southeast man was fatally shot early Thursday at the intersection of 18th Street and U Place Southeast, Metropolitan police officials said.
The man was identified as 27-year-old Lonnie Martin Witted. He was shot multiple times around 12:15 a.m. and taken to a local hospital where he died, police spokeswoman Gwendolyn Crump said.
