A man accused of having drunken sex while speeding his car on the Beltway was ordered on Tuesday to pay $22,000 to the driver of a taxi he slammed into more than a year ago.

Woodbridge, Va. resident Salem Trad plowed into a cab driven by Abdu Omar on I-495 near Telegraph Road in Alexandria on May 5, 2010.

Mr. Trad was on his way home from Baltimore, where he celebrated his 21st birthday. He was arrested and found guilty of driving while intoxicated.

What made headlines, however, were court documents filed when Mr. Omar filed a $75,000 lawsuit against Mr. Trad that contained salacious accusations of sexual activity while the car was speeding at speeds exceeding 80 miles per hour along the Beltway.

According to Mr. Trad’s Twitter account, which he updated almost constantly throughout his day in court, he’s “always gonna maintain my innocence because I am.”

In his Twitter profile photo, Mr. Trad can be seen in a bathroom mirror reflection holding a phone in one hand, a beer in the other and wearing a navy-blue shirt that says “Team Blackout.”
