MILAN (AP) - After contributing to save the Colosseum, the founder of the Tod’s fashion group is offering his support to Milan’s famed opera house La Scala.

Diego Della Valle announced Thursday that Tod’s will become a permanent member of the private Teatro alla Scala Foundation, which means euro5.2 million ($7.6 million) in support over four years.

Della Valle says he is working to get his entrepreneurial friends on board to support and restore important Italian attractions and landmarks, including Pompeii and Venice.

The Tod’s founder has pledged to invest euro25 million to help restore the Colosseum, blackened by pollution and weakened by subway rumbling.

Pompeii has suffered well-publicized collapses.
