NEW YORK (AP) - Scott Moyers, a top literary agent and former executive editor of Penguin Press, is returning to his old publishing house.

Penguin announced Tuesday that Moyers has been named publisher of the imprint, where authors include Pulitzer Prize winners Ron Chernow and Steve Coll.

Moyers had left Penguin in 2007 to join the Wylie Agency. Among his clients were musician David Byrne and Pulitzer Prize-winning historian David Hackett Fisher.

Moyers‘ return counters a recent trend of publishers becoming agents, including Laurence J. Kirshbaum, the former head of Warner Books, and Steve Ross, a former publisher at Crown and HarperCollins.
