NEW YORK (AP) - Punk pioneer Richard Hell has joined the wave of rock memoirists.

Hell, known for his punk anthem “Blank Generation,” has a deal with Ecco for “I Dreamed I was a Very Clean Tramp.” Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, announced Tuesday that the book would come out in Winter 2013. Hell will write about his time with such bands as Television and Richard Hell and the Voidoids and his encounters with Patti Smith, Blondie and others.

Neil Young, Courtney Love and Gregg Allman are among the many rock stars working on books.
