MEXICO CITY (AP) - American forward Herculez Gomez scored in his second straight game for Estudiantes Tecos, a 2-1 loss to Pumas UNAM in Mexico’s Apertura.

With the hosts trailing 1-0 Saturday night, Gomez headed in a goal in the 28th minute. Paco Palencia put Pumas back ahead on a deflected shot in the 62nd.

The 29-year-old from Las Vegas, acquired from Pachuca during the summer, has four goals this season. He was a member of last year’s U.S. World Cup team.
