A human head and other remains were found in a wooded area behind a Pasadena shopping center, Anne Arundel County police announced Tuesday.

Investigators are still working to identify the remains.

A citizen walking in a wooded area behind Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, in the 8100 block of Ritchie Highway, discovered a human skull around 3 p.m. Monday and reported it to police. Investigators conducted a search of the area using cadaver dogs and located “what was believed to be the remaining body parts” a short distance away, police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said.

The remains have been sent to Maryland’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore to determine the cause and manner of the person’s death.
