An 18-year-old man died after he was shot in the head in Southeast Washington on Tuesday evening, police officials said.

The man was identified Wednesday as Navarro Anthony Brown of Southeast, Metropolitan Police Department spokesman Officer Araz Alali said.

Police were called to the intersection of 23rd Street and Alabama Avenue, near the Shipley Terrace neighborhood, around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man who had been shot. Mr. Brown was found unconscious but breathing in the 3200 block of 23rd Street. He had been shot multiple times and was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Police had no other information on a suspect on Wednesday.
