STATE COLLEGE, PA. (AP) - Mourners are waiting in line well into the evening to pay respects to Joe Paterno at a Penn State campus worship hall.

The doors to the interfaith center were scheduled to be closed at 11 p.m. Police say anyone still inside the hall at that time will be allowed to file past Paterno’s closed casket.

A spray of white roses sat atop the undraped casket, flanked by an honor guard of two players _ one past and one present.

Others will have to return for another four-hour visitation that begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday. Paterno’s funeral is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.

The Hall of Fame football coach died Sunday, just more than two months after being diagnosed with lung cancer. A campus memorial service is scheduled for Thursday.
