Iowa does not select the Republican presidential candidate on its own. It is just the first stop in a long road to the White House, and any one of the three strong finishers are still well-positioned for the final lap.

The election is still almost a year away, and there are many more hurdles to jump before the winner can reach the finishing line.

In this race, it looks to me like Rick Santorum and Ron Paul are the ones to put your money on. Either one can beat President Obama by 5 percent and as a ticket, together they could beat Mr. Obama by 12 percent.
