While Potomac is already well-known for spectacular estate homes with all the bells and whistles, a new custom-designed home from Classic Homes has raised the bar for luxury a little higher.

Priced at $2,979,000, the home at 11012 Chandler Road in Potomac has 11,800 finished square feet on four levels. The residence includes six bedrooms, six full baths, a powder room and four fireplaces. Residents can jog to Great Falls Park and the Potomac River biking trails or reach Northern Virginia, Potomac Village and downtown Washington in minutes.

This French-country-style mansion sits on slightly more than an acre and features a stone front porch that wraps around one side of the house. The home includes an exterior of stone, Hardiplank siding and brick, with covered and uncovered decks across the back. The property also has a side-entry three-car garage.

Inside, every detail has been put in place to enhance the beauty of each room as well as the comfort of the residents. Gently curving archways, crown molding, deep baseboard molding, 10-foot ceilings, casement windows and recessed lighting can be found in nearly every room. The home includes smart-technology wiring, including four cameras for security, the ability to play music in any room in the house from an iPad docking station, and a fully wired media room. The Energy Star-certified home has five heating and cooling zones.

The front door opens into a dramatic two-story foyer with Australian acacia hardwood flooring, which has multiple colors and wood tones in each plank. The foyer has a curving cherry staircase with wrought-iron railings.

The foyer is flanked by the formal living room and the formal dining room, each generously proportioned and with hardwood flooring.

The back of the main level is open, with a wet bar and a two-story family room with a gas fireplace and a wall of windows. The family room opens to the state-of-the-art kitchen, which has a room-size “hidden pantry” accessible through custom-designed cabinet doors. The kitchen has custom-built cherry cabinets, stainless steel Viking appliances, an oversized island and an elaborate tile backsplash.

The kitchen opens onto a semicircular morning room wrapped in floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors.

On the opposite side of the family room is a study with a gas fireplace and French doors to a covered deck. A powder room is located just outside the study.

The first of two master suites is also on the main level and includes a bedroom, two walk-in closets and a luxurious bath with a soaking tub and a separate shower.

The main level also has a mudroom accessible from both the side porch and the garage.

Upstairs, on the first of two upper levels, the second master suite includes a separate sitting room with a gas fireplace, a wet bar in the bedroom and two oversized walk-in closets. The spectacular master bath, a semicircular space, features two types of polished Italian marble and natural stone accents for the accent wall at the back of the glass-enclosed shower. This bath has a central soaking tub and two vanities.

This level has three additional bedrooms, each with a private full bath and a walk-in closet. Several additional closets and a laundry room complete this level.

The uppermost level features a finished open loft for use as a playroom, office or studio.

The finished lower level includes a lavish double-size recreation room with a natural stone gas fireplace and a custom-designed bar with an arch overhead. Glass doors link the recreation room with a cookout area built of stone. The lower level also has a fully equipped media room, a bedroom, a full bath, an exercise room and a home office.
