Police in Montgomery County announced Thursday that they are investigating the county’s seventh homicide this year after a man was found fatally shot in his Silver Spring apartment.

Officers responded to the 1100 block of East-West Highway around 5 p.m. Wednesday after a family member of the man called to ask if someone could check on his welfare. They found Eric Somuah, 34, dead inside his apartment.

Mr. Somuah had been shot, police said.

A police spokeswoman could not confirm Thursday the last time anyone saw Mr. Somuah alive. No additional information was immediately available.
