OTTAWA, ONTARIO (AP) - Canada’s Supreme Court will not hear a former Broadway theater mogul Garth Drabinsky’s appeal of fraud convictions.
Drabinsky was appealing a ruling last year by Ontario’s Court of Appeal, which refused to overturn his two fraud convictions after he and business partner Myron Gottlieb were convicted in 2009. They were imprisoned in mid-September.
The two co-founded The Live Entertainment Corporation of Canada, Inc., or Livent, that produced such 1990s hits as “Ragtime” and “Show Boat.”
The high court gave no reason for the denial.
