INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Oriol Servia has been released and cleared to drive after crashing in Saturday’s Indianapolis 500 qualifying.

On his warm-up lap, the Spanish driver spun coming out of the fourth turn, hitting the inside wall and slamming into the attenuator at the entrance to pit road. It was the second crash of the week.

Earlier, rookie Bryan Clauson’s car bobbled as drove through the first turn on the fourth and final lap of his qualifying attempt. He was later cleared and released to drive, and his team was scrambling to fix Clauson’s car. He does not anticipate trying to qualify again until Sunday.

James Hinchcliffe holds the early pole with a four-lap average of 225.746 mph. Tony Kanaan’s first qualifying attempt was disallowed after a technical inspection found a ballast violation.
