A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Northwest Monday morning, police said.

The vehicle, carrying the driver and a passenger, hit a man in his 60s on the 600 block of 5th Street Northwest, said spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant. The vehicle remained on the scene after the incident, which occurred shortly after 9 a.m.  

Officer Gant said all three people were transported to the hospital, where the man was pronounced dead. The condition of the driver and passengers is unknown.  

She said the driver may have experienced a medical emergency before the crash.
