Police have identified a 26-year-old D.C. woman who was killed over the weekend in Glenarden in what authorities say was a domestic dispute.

The woman, identified as Shariel M. McCutchen, was found “unconscious on the floor suffering from several gunshot wounds,” said Glenarden Police Chief Philip O’Donnell. Ms. McCutchen was pronounced dead on the scene.

Officers responded to a report of gunshots at the Glenarden Apartments complex on the 8400 block of Hamlin Street at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Chief O’Donnell said. Ms. McCutchen did not live in the apartment building.

Police identified a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest, Chief O’Donnell said. He could not comment Monday afternoon on the identity of the suspect nor on his relationship to Ms. McCutchen.

The case has been turned over to the Prince George’s County police homicide unit, which did not comment.
