Prince George’s County police have identified a woman found dead in a Beltsville park last week and are investigating it as a homicide.

The woman, 22-year-old Ingrid Lizet Martinez-Alvarez of the 7900 block of Riggs Road, was found dead on Wednesday morning at Beltsville Neighborhood Park at 11540 Montgomery Road. On Friday, police put out a poster looking for help identifying her. The poster featured pictures of her six tattoos, plus information about her body piercing, build and height.

On Saturday, police announced they had identified Ms. Martinez-Alvarez with tips received from media reports about the case.

Police had no other details about the case to release on Sunday. Department spokeswoman Cpl. Maria McKinney said that Ms. Martinez-Alvarez’s cause of death is not being released to protect the integrity of the investigation.
