The New York Jets have cut quarterback Tim Tebow after one turbulent season, the New York Post reported Monday.

The former Heisman Trophy winner from Florida was acquired from the Denver Broncos prior to last season, but never really fit into the gameplan during the Jets miserable season under the direction of starting quarterback Mark Sanchez.

After missing the playoffs, General Manager Mike Tannenbaum was fired and Head Coach Rex Ryan remains on the hot seat.

The Jets drafted West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith on the second round of the draft over the weekend.
