Target faced sharp criticism after labeling one of its plus-size dresses as “Manatee Gray” on its website.

The Mossimo Kimono maxi dress is called Manatee Gray in the plus-size, but in a normal size it’s simply labeled “Dark Heather Gray.”

One shopper was offended by the name and brought it to the retailer’s attention via Twitter.

Apparently, the two different teams responsible for the standard and plus-size Mossimo dress did not coordinate color names when they entered the product information for the site, a Target spokesman told Forbes.

The retailer responded via tweet to the customer: “We apologize for this unintentional oversight and never intend to offend our guests. We’ve heard you, and we’re working to fix it ASAP.”

Target defended the name of the color, saying that many of its products, such as pillows and towels, are labeled manatee gray. The Mossimo dress, however, has since been removed from the website.
