“The Sandlot” star Tom Guiry, who played Scotty Smalls, was arrested at Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston over the weekend for head-butting a cop after trying to kick him in the face.

Law enforcement officials told TMZ that things escalated when a United Airlines employee determined Mr. Guiry that was too drunk to fly.

The employee contacted an airport cop, who approached Guiry and gave him two options: a public intoxication arrest, or the drunk tank, TMZ reported.

The actor then reportedly became belligerent and tried kicking the cop in the face, before scoring a head-butt, the report said.

Mr. Guiry was charged for felony assault on a police officer. The officer wasn’t injured, and Mr. Guiry was released on $5,000 bail.

“The Sandlot” celebrated its 20th anniversary last month with a reunion at the actual sandlot where the movie was filmed in Utah.

Shortly after the reunion, Mr. Guiry told the Huffington Post that shooting the movie was “One of the best experiences of my life.” He’s lived with the nickname “Smalls” ever since.
