A Wall Street Journal employee was “pretty shaken” after finding a dead frog in her salad at a restaurant chain in New York City on Monday.

“Photo of said dead frog found in my colleague’s @Pretsalad #aughhhggughhh #nofilter,” Kathryn Lurie, an editor at the Journal, wrote on Instagram with an accompanying photo of the expired amphibian.

The colleague, who wished to remain anonymous, found the frog in her salad from a Pret A Manger store on 47th Street and Sixth Avenue, NBC 4 reported.

“Guys, to be clear, it wasn’t my salad. It was a colleague’s, and she was pretty shaken, understandably!” Miss Lurielater tweeted.

Pret said in a statement: “Our lettuce is sourced from farms that do not use any pesticides on its produce, therefore organic matter does very rarely manage to pass through our production process. We are currently looking into this issue to make every effort that this does not happen again,” NBC 4 said.
