A mother in England is upset after, she claims, a teacher told her 10-year-old son he couldn’t drink water at school out of respect for Muslim students observing Ramadan.

Kora Blagden said her son, a student at Charles Dickens Primary School in Portsmouth, Hampshire, came home Thursday and said he wasn’t able to drink water during what was one of the hottest days of the year, The Blaze reported.

“[Luke] said his class teacher refused it because one of the kids was fasting, I think quite a few were fasting, but one in particular had a headache,” Ms. Blagden told the Belfast Telegraph.
