A passenger aboard a United Airlines flight from Hong Kong to New Jersey was restrained by other passengers Monday after he told crew members he had “poisoned everyone on board,” sources told ABC News.

“While en route from Hong Kong to Newark, a passenger became disruptive on board United Flight 116,” airline spokeswoman Jennifer Dohm confirmed. “The crew followed procedures and the flight is continuing as scheduled.”

There is no evidence that the passengers were poisoned, and officials believe the man may be emotionally disturbed, WABC-TV reported.

The flight was expected arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport at 1:42 p.m. EDT.
