Smithfield, a major pork company that featured hams in the Paula Deen Collection, has dropped the TV chef after she admitted to using racial slurs several decades ago.

The company issued in a statement saying it “condemns the use of offensive and discriminatory language and behavior of any kind.”

Smithfield is determined to be an ethical food industry leader and it is important that our values and those of our spokespeople are properly aligned,” the statement said.
