The L.A. city attorney has filed two charges against Chris Brown after he allegedly fled the scene of a minor accident last month without exchanging proper information.

The crimes are punishable by a maximum of 6 months in jail for each offense, TMZ reported.

The rapper’s case will be referred to the L.A. County D.A. for a possible probation violation in the Rihanna beating case. TMZ reported that if the judge in that case concludes Brown violated his probation, he could be sentenced to prison for 4 years.

The performer took to Twitter Tuesday afternoon to plead his case:

“It’s not a hit and run if u get out the car, exchange information (who has NO DAMAGE to either cars). This is really ridiculous,” he said.

“I have a valid drivers license and I gave the woman the right info. She saw cameras and wanted to make a scene,” he added.

Brown then uploaded a photo of the other person’s car that he allegedly took at the time of the accident.

“My profile pic is the pic I took of the persons car after “the hit and run”. NO damage. Just a dirty car.once again, I gotta clear my name,” he said.
