The editors at sports website SportsGrid.com have discovered the latest, yet disturbing, trend that’s hit Twitter of people posting pictures of themselves “Hernandezing.”

The new meme — prompted by NFL star Aaron Hernandez’s arrest by police Wednesday for the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd — comes with guidelines:

1. Must be a white t-shirt.

2. Hands must be together in the back, as if cuffed.

3. Red shorts is always a plus.

4. Need dour expression. No smiling.

5. Extra credit for being met at the door by your friends, and then being led out and loaded into a car.

“Having said this, I find the entire new craze in very poor taste,” Rick Chandler of Sports Grid said. “Although anything that takes the wind out of Tebowing …”

Mr. Hernandez is being held without bail. It was reported earlier Thursday that investigators in Boston are looking into whether he might be connected to a double homicide that occurred in the city last July.
